Donations: Your Support is Key to a Cure
Currently, there is no cure for the disease (AD). Treatments are being developed, but ongoing research is the key to stopping this devastating illness.
For over two decades, the the Association has been the country’s largest private funder of research. It has awarded more than $60 million in grants.
Over the next five years, our chapter will contribute more than $300,000 each year to research being done locally. The association also advocates for increased funding at the federal level. Research has resulted in the discovery of drugs that can slow the progression of the disease. Today, dozens of drugs that may improve symptoms and slow progression are being studied.
What your support provides:
- $1,000 provides one year of respite care for a family
- $400 provides Early Stage Programming for one person with AD and his/her caregiver
- $200 provides gatekeeper training for one social service professional or faith leader
- $100 provides one family care consultation
- $50 provides Helpline contact for two families
- $30 provides the Newsletter for one family a year
