FLASH MOVIES
| This piece was an initial foray into Flash movies. It was created for the premier 1999 season of the Orchestra Leadership Academy, a project of the American Symphony Orchestra League. The word "Leadership" emerges, then fades back to let the Academy name take prominence.

| This piece was done in January of 2004 as a bit of eye-candy to draw people in to the One Book One Community project of the Joshua Hyde Public Library in Sturbridge, MA. The "One Book" is Linda Greenlaw's The Lobster Chronicles. The lobster catches hold of a buoy, then falls back into the ocean, where he floats up and down, looking around, and figures he'd best keep and eye on YOU.

| Here is another Flash piece done for the One Book One Community web site. Extra Mile Design, of Pepperell, Massachusettes, created the graphics for the project, including brochures, some very interesting promotional pieces, and this sign, which had velcro-backed, interchangeable announcement pieces. We did this Flash piece to demonstrate how it would work.

| This was done as a special holiday tree-lighting ceremony announcement for the public library in Pepperell, Massachusetts, home of West End Web Design's sister company, Extra Mile Design. The idea was simple: tree, no putti, no star, then putti, then star, then no putti. Then snow. |

| This piece was done for a department whose people were vibrant, interesting people, though their function was rather prosaic. I wanted something that would be playful and attractive and that didn't slow your work down. How about a paper airplane that flies to a nearby galaxy and delivers your paperwork right to your desk? |

| This Flash movie was created in order to be turned into a screen saver. The image was taken from a poster; the words are the company's Mission and Vision statements. The screensaver could be seen on countless desktops for several years. I think the computers were a lot slower back then... |

Here is an opening page for the New England Center (for autistic children) which shows the "clouds of autism" replaced by the clear skies of an educated child. While the main drama of this page is in the rollover replacement of images, note the Flash movie in the banner, as "disability" becomes "ability" and "incapable" becomes "capable." |

This piece was developed for a Corporate Library department in order to draw attention to the many services of the Library. Each service takes its own little path into the scene. | |
