How to Use the Class Geocities Site

The homework site is http://www.geocities.com/uophxweb

To open the Geocities' File Manager

1. When you open the page, click on the link near the bottom for the "File Manager".
2. When you get to the File Manager, log in from the link just above the blue bar on the right (Sign in)
3. The username is "uophxweb"
4. The password is "stlouis"
5. Once you're in, click on the folder which has your name on it.

To download the chapter data files

1. To download the chapter files, open the appropriate folder, right-click on each file you want, and
   1. If you use Internet Explorer, choose "Save target as"
   2. If you use Firefox, choose "Save link as"
2. Save the file to the appropriate folder on your computer
   1. you could create a folder on your desktop called "XML Tutorial 2", for example, and download all the data files into it
   2. you might want to move that folder to a University of Phoenix folder in "My Documents" when you have finished the homework.

To upload your finished homework to Geocities

1. To upload the finished homework files, open your folder in the Geocities File Manager and find the appropriate folder for the homework assignment and open it.
2. Click on "upload files" in the upper right-hand corner.
3. Click on the first browse button
4. Select the file you want to upload from your hard disk and click Open.
5. Click on the next browse button and repeat the process until you have uploaded all of the files you want to upload.

To upload files using FTP

• Hostname: ftp.geocities.com
• Username: uophxweb
• Password: same as above

If you want to set your ftp program to upload directly into your directory, you may have the option in your FTP program to set the initial remote folder or directory by using a slash and your first name, like this: /martha.
